The Letter
T is representative of Temujin. The Mongols believed that names were extremely important, for they only had one name in their lifetime. Temujin is said to mean Iron Worker. Genghis Khan is speculated to be named after Temujin Uge, a Tatar warrior killed by Yesugei. Many of the children Hoelun bore after Temujin were named by the root of his name. The T is plain and unassuming, symbolizing the lifestyle and spirit of the Mongols. Genghis Khan despised luxury and, even though he possessed enormous wealth from his conquests, he did not boast it.
